  1. Congratulations on your 30 days! The first month I think is always the hardest that is why they give that 30 day keyring. I also have BPD and a lot of other mental health problems. In my 11 year recovery I have had a nervous breakdown, 4 psychiatric relapses my mother die but still I’ve never picked up alcohol or drugs and was 11 years clean at the beginning of this year. I had a lot of help – I was in residential rehab for a year then a part time day programme for another 3 years. And I’ve had a lot of therapy. But now all my addictions and mental health problems are in recovery and I am happier and more peaceful than I have ever been. There was no restoration to sanity for me as I wasn’t sane as a child I am experiencing sanity for the first time in my life and I am loving it! Good luck on your journey.

    1. Thank you. I started outpatient rehab last week and the homeless shelter where I am staying is trying to get me into supportive housing. I’m finally ready to admit that my mental illness is worse than I have previously accepted. I’m taking all the help I can get.

  3. I am so happy for you! Congratulations! And you have been able to stay sober during this uneasy time in your life. Do you understand how truly courageous that is? You’re probably my favorite blog to read, not because you’re going through troubled waters, I don’t know how to explain it, but from the first post I read I was hooked. I’m totally a random stranger but I. Am. Proud. Of. You. and I say that honestly.

What Say You?
